In short

I like everything about software engineering: I like software, I like engineering and I like how it sounds together. That's me joking, but nevertheless, I really do. But I don't like just ANY programming. I'll explain. My personal belief is that the internal beauty of a system is more important than the external, and this philosophy guides my work. So for example, a generic frontend is not something I'd like to do - it's just not my forte.

I'm often skeptical about things(I prefer to call it critical thinking 🤭), which is a good quality for an engineer, but it can sometimes make it challenging for me to believe what others say. However, I pride myself on being honest and direct as a straight line in my thoughts, actions, feelings, and beliefs.

I'm passionate about several matters, including self-reflection, engineering, and philosophy. Higher mathematics is also a particular interest of mine, and I enjoy playing and listening to music, as well as sharing my favorite tunes. A rather longish list of my interests

This website is specifically about the interests of one person, as you might suspect - me. So that's not too much of a shock that the content will be about everything and about nothing specifically - there's no positioning right now and it's a feature. So here's a deep dive into my ever-diverging interests, if you'd like:

💻 First and foremost, I'm passionate about software development. I love to code and solve problems with code. I enjoy learning new programming languages and frameworks, as well as mastering the ones I already know. I appreciate the power of software to automate tasks, connect people and machines, and create new opportunities for innovation and collaboration.

↕️ Secondly, I'm intrigued by programming language development. I'm fascinated by how programming languages work, how they evolve, and how they can express different paradigms and abstractions. I'm particularly interested in type theory, category theory, abstract algebra, and other branches of higher math that have applications in programming languages. I enjoy exploring the design space of programming languages, from low-level systems languages to high-level domain-specific languages.

➗ Thirdly, I'm a math and theoretical computer science enthusiast. I find beauty and elegance in mathematical structures, such as groups, rings, fields, and topologies. I'm also interested in algorithms and data structures, and in how they can be analyzed and optimized. I enjoy reading research papers and attending conferences on math and computer science. I believe that a solid foundation in math and theoretical computer science is essential for anyone who wants to excel in software development and programming language development.

📭 Fourthly, I'm a supporter of open source. You can check that in my contributions and projects pages. I believe in the power of collaboration, transparency, and sharing. I have contributed to several open-source projects, and I have benefited from many others. I appreciate the values of open source, such as meritocracy, diversity, and sustainability. I think that open source can not only produce better software but also foster a better culture of learning and innovation.

🌐 Fifthly, I'm an amateur linguistics enthusiast. I speak several languages, including Ukrainian, Russian, English, Dutch, and Chinese. I find it fascinating how languages differ and converge, how they shape our thinking and communication, and how they reflect our cultural and historical backgrounds. I enjoy reading about linguistics, language evolution, and language learning. I also appreciate the richness and diversity of human expression that different languages offer.

🤔 Sixthly, I'm a philosophy reader and learner. I'm drawn to existentialist, rationalist, and classical schools of philosophy. I appreciate the insights and challenges that philosophy poses to our assumptions, beliefs, and values. I find it inspiring to explore the nature of reality, consciousness, morality, and aesthetics. I believe that philosophy can help us to become more reflective, critical, and creative in our lives and work.

🎸 Seventhly, I have a deep passion for music. I have been playing guitar, ukulele, and piano for several years with my favorite instrument being my own voice. I find singing to be a cathartic activity that helps me to express myself.

🧘‍♂️ Eighthly, I'm a semiregular practitioner(at least trying to be 😄) of light gymnastics, yoga, and meditation. I firmly believe in the transformative power of persistent physical exercise and mental relaxation to improve both our physical and mental health.

📝 Finally, I'm a writer and blogger. I enjoy expressing my thoughts and experiences through writing, and I hope that my words can resonate with and inspire others. I believe that writing can be a form of art(like everything a human being does), a way of learning, and a means of connection. I'm committed to improving my writing skills, and to finding my own voice and style.
